Jokes

A joke is a phrase or paragraph with a humerous twist. Many jokes contain either irony, sarcasm or word play. Most spoken jokes also contain a 'punchline' at the end which will often make the person laugh depending on weither or not they find it funny. A practical joke, which is also known as a 'prank' means the humerous side of the joke is physical, rather than verbal e.g fart joke- this is said to be the worlds oldest joke.

The rules of joke-telling ar as follows: Timing, Precision (choose the right words and put them in the right order in a sentence), Synthesis( maximum level of humour with minimum amount of words) and rhythm.

We hear basic laughter everyday and all other types of laughter are a combination of basic laughter and another type of laughter. Another type of luaghter is 'Warm Up Laughter'. An example of warm up laughter is 'Ho Ho Ha Ha' which is uaually used while clapping/chanting when enjoying a particular activity. 'Spontaneous/Patiala laughter' this is a type of laughter where the mouth is open wide and hands are raised, the person laughing will probably make a large laughing sound.

Etiquette Laughter- This is a type of laughter used often everyday and is simply when we laugh at something that we ourselves dont find remotely funny. Some people say humans do this to get along with other people better and communicate well.

Nervous Laughter- people laugh nervously when in situations of stress and anxiety to show self control and confidence, this often results in the situation becoming more awkward and the person coming across as fake.

Pigeon Laughter- This type of laughter is heard when someone laughs with their mouth closed which results in there being a humming noise produced which sounds like a pigeon or bee.
